Rocco Forte's Villa Kennedy voted Top Business Hotel in Europe
Aug 25, 06 1:57 am
The September 2006 issue of CNBC European Business magazine has named Rocco Forte’s Villa Kennedy the number one business hotel in Europe. The hotel, which opened earlier this year on 1 March, has raised the benchmark for hotels not only in Frankfurt, but Europe as a whole. Villa Kennedy beat the George V in Paris, The Lanesborough in London and the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan, as well as last year’s winner Hotel Adlon in Berlin, to take the top prize. Describing Villa Kennedy, CNBCEB wrote “From every angle, this hotel surpasses one’s expectations. Separating a great hotel from a merely good one are character and details. All Villa Kennedy’s rooms have unusually high levels of natural daylight, for instance, and the discreet provision of a dedicated workstation in every room does away with the need for a business centre. Such wi-fi wonderment lifts the standard for this sort of hotel to a new height”. Despite having been open for less than six months, Villa Kennedy has already won two other awards. The architectural design of Villa Kennedy claimed the prestigious Hotel & Tourism award at the MIPIM trade show in Cannes in March and in May the hotel was voted Best Business Hotel in Frankfurt by EURO magazine. CNBCEB’s award is a testament to Rocco Forte Hotels’ dedication to providing world-class service and facilities for the modern business traveller. For not only did Villa Kennedy come top of CNBCEB’s survey, but another four Rocco Forte Hotels were named in the top 20 European Business Hotels. They are Le Richemond in Geneva, Brown’s Hotel in London, Hotel Amigo in Brussels and The Balmoral in Edinburgh.

Perrot moves into his new role from his position as General Manager, InterContinental Citystars, where he was tasked with the challenging role of opening the lavish and luxurious hotel in 2005. The property won the Best Business Hotel in Cairo award at this year’s Business Traveller Middle East Awards.
As part of his new role, Perrot will be responsible for the group’s properties located within the Citystars development – Cairo’s largest retail and leisure complex.
Following his first role with the group in 1981 at InterContinental Geneva, Perrot moved into the position of Financial Controller, working in several locations including London and Nairobi. Perrot was then transferred and promoted to Director of Finance at the Carlton InterContinental Cannes in the South of France.
After six years, Perrot ventured to Asia where he took up the position of Regional Financial Controller for Indonesia, based at the Borobudur InterContinental Jakarta. Perrot then took on the joint role of Regional Finance and Resident Manager at the same property. Staying in Asia, he transferred to Seoul, Korea in 1999 to take up the role of Resident Manager at the Grand InterContinental Seoul, following which he then moved to the COEX InterContinental Seoul as Hotel Manager.
Perrot joined the group’s Middle East and Africa division in 2005 after being appointed InterContinental Citystars, General Manager.
Speaking about his promotion Perrot said, “I am extremely excited by the new role as I thoroughly enjoy working at InterContinental Citystars, particularly as I started out with the opening team for the launch of the property. I am now looking forward to building on this with the group’s other Citystars’ properties, including the Holiday Inn Citystars due to open in early 2007.”
Commenting on the Perrot’s promotion, Chris Moloney, Chief Operating Officer, InterContinental Hotels Group Middle East and Africa, said: “During his time at Citystars, Perrot has helped successfully develop the property into a leading business and leisure property in the market.
